Artist statement
Many artists consider their own style to be unique, and I’m not any different. I feel that my personal style is aware, and that I do consider my surroundings when creating and designing various projects. I would consider myself an aware, creative and nice young man who is deeply music influenced by music. Also I think others would describe me in the same way, especially those that know me well.
I love photography and have been influenced by Jamel Shabazz. I didn’t know about him until recent years but his pictures have greatly inspired me which is why I consider Shabazz as one of my favorite artist’s. Once again one of my major influences in life is music. Still, when it really comes down to it I believe that my parents are the ones that have influenced me the most. They have taught me everything I know regarding my behavior.
One of my favorite artists is Mos Def. His first album is called Black on Both Sides, released in 1999, and it’s still according to me the best album ever introduced to the public. Obviously not everyone agrees with me, but that’s not my intention. I have been listening to this album for so long, it’s been through rain and shine. It has been playing throughout my youth and until this day.
Personally I constantly enjoy being around good people, this is my main goal whenever I have some spare time. If that’s not possible I like to relax on my own with some good music, an interesting paper or a glass of wine.
The excitement I get of creating digital art comes from the level of achievement I feel when I pull through with a project. I do recognize how my design skills are growing for every project I take on, and further on with every problem I manage to solve I always learn something new. Now a day I see commercials on television and posters in San Francisco and I feel, “I could improve that!”
Lastly, people need to know about me because if they don’t they might be missing out. Also without being arrogant I feel some people can learn a lot from me, and of course I enjoy meeting other people since I can learn a lot from them.

Fruit face.

The first assignment we did in class. When finished with my assignment I understood the importance of layers, and how I can play around with them. This is probably the ugliest fruit face around.
Renaissance Self Portrait.

The renaissance assignment was definitely my favorite assignment. I had no clue about photoshop and somehow I pulled this of. Also, I was satisfied that not many realized that there was a small flag embedded in the script.
Business Card.

Retrospect Productions, and this my business card. I really enjoyed this task since I'm hoping to one day establish my own business. Once I get my real business card, I will definitely think of this assignment.
Digital Retouching.

When finished with this assignment, I fully understood the tools used when refreshing an old photograph. It is remarkable how one can change and manipulate images with photoshop.
Front Poster.

With this assignment I learned the impact of using different fonts and colors together. I also found out how to disguise the focus of the fonts through the opacity tool.
Colorized Photo.

With this assignment I learned how to use the brush by hand. At first it I believed that it wouldn't make any difference, but as you can see on this picture it does. All the colors are brushed by hand, with an exception of the super straight blue line to the right.
Coloring Templates.

Very straight forward assignment that I enjoyed to finish. I only used the paint bucket tool to fill in the colors.

I enjoy to take photographs on my spare time or while traveling. During my two years in California this is some of the photographs I've taken so far.
PS lover & Digital Imaging 115 Poster.

Through PS lover I learned how to create this design, and I'm really proud of it. I customized the picture and also added the tag line in it. This making it the perfect ad for Art 115. It was a lot of hard work to cut all the curves in the puzzle, but hard work pays off.
Retrospect Productions Brochure.

This is the finished brochure. Check out the comment section. I liked the fact that I could chose from various designs, and it was very easy to use.
Extra Credit, Ad Campaign.

This is an ad campaign for SFMOMA. I took this picture while visiting the museum with our class. I learn how to play with the saturation through PS lover, and I implemented this style on this ad. I choose this picture for my ad since it is very famous, and therefore I believe that it could attract customers.
